| Meta Launches Union Apprenticeships to Train Workforce for US AI Data Centers |
- Meta Platforms has partnered with North America’s Building Trades Unions to create registered apprenticeship programs that train skilled workers to build and maintain data centers and AI infrastructure across the U.S., giving the company access to more than 3.2 million craft professionals.
- The agreement is aimed at easing workforce shortages and some community opposition around large data center projects by formalising training and employment pathways tied directly to Meta’s ongoing AI infrastructure build-out.
- Meta’s share price is US$594.97, with the stock down 10% over the past month.
This union partnership speaks directly to Meta’s ability to execute on heavy AI-related capital spending while trying to reduce project delays and local resistance. Reliable access to trained labor and clearer community benefits can affect build timelines and cost visibility. These factors in turn feed into how investors assess the durability and risk profile of Meta’s long-term AI infrastructure program.
