Hi Iza,
There's a version of me you don’t know.
You probably started following me through the Bali life, the business, the membership, the relationship. But there was a time before all that. A past. That is dark. See…
I’ve bullied people.
I’ve stolen from shops.
I’ve done drugs for days.
I’ve cheated on boyfriends.
I’ve been extremely toxic in relationships.
I’ve even been on a reality tv show.
My past is UGLY.
If you spoke to people I went to high school with? They’d tell you I was a bitch.
If you spoke to my ex boyfriends? They’d tell you I was toxic.
If you spoke to my old employers? They’d tell you I was a nightmare.
If someone from my past came out tomorrow and tried to share “dirt” on me? I’d probably agree with everything they said.
…See, when you own what you fear other people have over you? No one will ever have power over you again.
That's the secret nobody tells you.
Your skeletons only have power while they're hidden. The second you drag them into the light and say yep, that was me…they go quiet. There's nothing left to expose. You already did it.
I couldn't have built my personal brand while trying to keep my past hidden.
Because a personal brand means showing up. Every day. Face on camera, name attached, thousands of eyes on you. And if I still feared my past coming out? I'd have never posted a thing. I'd have spent my whole life bracing for the day someone "found out."
Instead, I did the work. I faced the shame. I owned the guilt. I stopped running from the secrets.
And now there's nothing to find. Because I'll say it before they can.
That's what shadow work actually is.
It's not your typical love & light shit. It's turning around and looking at the exact parts of yourself you've spent years hoping no one would see…and owning them so completely that they can't be used against you.
What used to keep me up at night? I say out loud in an email.
What I used to hide? I built a brand on top of.
What I used to fear being "exposed"? I exposed myself first.
That's freedom. Not being perfect.
Being unexposable.
And the crazyyyy part….the more I own the ugly, the more people trust me. Because everyone has a past but most people run from it instead of leveraging it.
So if there's a part of your past that is stopping you from showing up online. The one thing that you’re like “omg I could never share that.” I’m going to challenge you to share it and if you need support on how to work through it.
That's the work I teach every day inside my shadow work membership. 15,000 people learning to own the parts of themselves they used to run from. It's the best thing I've ever built.
Check it out here.
And as always….if you love these personal emails where I expose my humanness, reply and tell me. I read every one.
Lots of love,
Felicity x
