I used to attend trainings with my camera off, sitting cross-legged on my classroom floor, sorting book bins while I listened, Niepodam.

I never once felt like I was doing it wrong.

So here's what I want you to know before August 9th.

You never have to turn your camera on. Show up in your messy bun, listen from the car, eat a snack, whatever works for you.

However you show up, I'll be glad you're there.

And if you already have a phonics program, this isn't asking you to replace it.

It's the practice piece most programs skip: the games and reading passages that give kids the repetition they actually need to lock a skill in.
