25 Years of Service

Dear Program Stakeholders,

Today marks an important milestone: 25 years since the program processed its very first claim. Just eight days later, the first payment was issued to a claimant. That achievement came less than nine months after the law was enacted—an extraordinary accomplishment that reflects the rapid development of regulations, procedures, systems, and outreach efforts needed to serve eligible workers and their families.

Over the past 25 years, this program has remained focused on supporting our nation's nuclear weapons workers—individuals whose work involved significant sacrifice in service to the country. Through continued collaboration among federal partners, advocates, medical providers, claimants, families, and other stakeholders, the program has helped ensure that eligible workers and survivors receive the benefits and assistance they deserve.

We are grateful for the ongoing engagement and support of the many stakeholders who have contributed to this mission. Your continued partnership helps strengthen our ability to serve workers and families with care, respect, and commitment.
