 Hard to believe it is already August! I hope your family has enjoyed a fun and relaxing summer. Even while schools are closed, the Lemon Road community has had a great time with a book mobile, playdate, and library event in the past month. If you couldn't make an event in July, check out the dates below to meet up with Lemon Road staff before summer comes to an end!
We look forward to seeing everyone at Open House on Friday, August 21 at 1:45 PM. Class assignments will be shared through SIS ParentVue on Thursday, August 20.
Families provide school supplies for their child each year. Order your child's school supplies or use grade level lists to shop yourself. If your family needs assistance providing school supplies, please contact Mrs. Reyes Gomez (Family Liaison) at kereyesgomez@fcps.edu.
 In addition to the resources below, Lemon Road shares a Summer Activity Board we hope all lions will complete and return! Access a digital copy here, check your child's Wednesday folder for a printed copy, or come to one of our summer events and pick up another printed copy! Lions that return completed (or partially completed) boards are invited to a celebration when school is back in session.

FCPS’ Summer Resource Guide has activities and tips on a variety of subjects and interests, from camps and activities to health and safety resources.
The FCPS Summer Learning webpage offers ideas and strategies for families to keep students curious until August. Summer is the perfect time to help your student explore new interests, reinforce concepts, and stay engaged!
If your child is entering grades 4, 5 or 6 and is new OR you did not share their musical preferences with us in the spring, please be sure to complete this form by August 14. Student schedules are created with their music preferences and we want to ensure your child has their schedule ready for the first day of school. All students take general music in Fairfax County, but students that do not choose an instrument are placed in a section with more general music than those that play an instrument. Student selections remain for one full school year, but a student may change their selection for the upcoming year.
Students beginning 4th grade may chose a strings instrument (violin, viola, cello or bass) OR may choose general music.
Students entering 5th or 6th grade may chose a strings instrument (violin, viola, cell or bass), a band instrument (flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba or percussion), or general music. In addition 5th and 6th grade students may join the chorus. Chorus is offered at a different time during the week and does not impact the ability for a student to play an instrument.
