Hi, Halley Families!

We hope you're enjoying a wonderful summer! Here at Halley Elementary, we've been hard at work getting everything ready for an amazing new school year. Our administrative team is putting the finishing touches on our school-wide schedule, ensuring our classrooms and hallways are ready for students, and planning exciting professional learning for our teachers and staff so we're ready to welcome every student on the first day.

Our administrative team would like to recognize a very special community member who has given enormous effort, sweat, and love to our Halley garden at entrance #1.  Ms. PerryAnne Coffey is a master gardener who has a deep love for all things beautiful and our school community.  Ms. Coffey and her family are former Hornets who believe in the power of community and volunteering.  Stop by our Halley garden around 6:00 PM each day and you are sure to see Ms. Coffey outside tending to the beautiful array of flowers and plants in our garden.  We see you and appreciate you Ms.Coffey!! We know many of our families are also beginning to prepare for the school year ahead. In this edition of Hornet Happenings, you'll find important dates, helpful reminders, and information to help your family get ready for a successful start.

Until then, keep making summer memories, stay safe, and don't forget to have fun in the sun, Hornets! We can't wait to welcome everyone back to the Hive!

Buzz Before the Bell:

Open House at Halley Elementary

The excitement is building at Halley Elementary, and we can't wait to welcome our Hornets back for the 2026–2027 school year! Join us for our Buzz Before the Bell Open House on Friday, August 21 to meet your child's teacher, locate classrooms, and kick off an amazing school year.

Open House Schedule

• Pre-K Open House: 2:00–2:30 p.m.
• Military-Connected Family Meet & Greet: 2:30–3:00 p.m.
• Kindergarten–6th Grade Open House: 3:00–4:00 p.m.

This is a wonderful opportunity for students and families to become familiar with the school, ask questions, and begin the year feeling confident and connected. We look forward to welcoming our Halley families and kicking off another incredible school year together.

We can't wait to see you back in the Hive!

School Supplies

Before you head out to shop, be sure to visit the Halley Elementary School website to find your child's grade-level school supply list.

Our website has the most up-to-date supply lists to help ensure your child has everything they need for a successful start to the school year.

Parents: We highly encourage each family to bring their child's school supplies to our Open House event on August 21st at 3:00 PM for grades K-6.  Preschool open house begins at 2:00 PM.

Thank you for helping our Hornets arrive on the first day of school prepared and ready to learn.
