I finally had a chance to test the new recording setup you asked about, and I think I found a decent sweet spot with the microphone positioning. If you angle it slightly off-axis and keep it about six inches from the source, the plosives are much less aggressive. I also swapped in a different pop filter, the double-layer mesh one rather than the nylon sock type, and it makes a noticeable difference. For the room treatment, we might not need full panels right away. Just moving that bookshelf to the back wall and hanging a heavy curtain over the window reduced the flutter echo significantly. I recorded a quick sample this morning with the new arrangement and the waveform looks cleaner, fewer jagged peaks. I can share the file tomorrow after I trim the dead air at the start. Are you still planning to use the dynamic mic for the voiceover, or did you settle on the condenser after all?
