Hi ala,
She told stories from the stage. Amazing stories. And we hung on every word.
Then she said, “Buy my book and read the stories.”
And we did. We dutifully lined up and shelled out $30 each. The people who didn’t? They already had the book. The gentleman ahead of me in line bought three. “One for me and one each for my kids.” I started reading the book on the train ride home.
“Buy my book.”
Because sometimes you need to tell people what to do and how they can support the work you are doing.
It’s also an important part of speaking to build your business. Too often we see speakers who are dazzling onstage. They tell grand stories. They offer sage advice.
They leave the audience wanting more but they never offer a way to engage in the moment.
Maybe they hope people will seek them out. Inquire. Hunt them down.
This is why we are offering a new webinar program, Speaking to Build Businesses. Because more of us need to say, "Buy my book...or my coaching program...or my consulting services."
