The US military says it has completed a "heavy wave" of strikes against Iran in retaliation for Tuesday's attempted ballistic missile attacks on American forces. Iranian state media said the strikes had killed three people, including a two-year-old. The latest hostilities come after the conflict expanded, with the first publicly announced US-Saudi strikes on Iranian proxy milita in Iraq. Until now, Saudi Arabia has tried to stay out of the conflict, notes security correspondent Frank Gardner. But "after being attacked from three sides" the kingdom is now "facing a difficult dilemma", he says. Does it keep up the strikes or try to de-escalate? And what will the impact be?

Under the terms of the October ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, Israel agreed to withdraw its forces from across Gaza to a designated demarcation - the Yellow Line. It later moved the concrete blocks marking the line deeper into Gaza, increasing the area under its control. And satellite imagery analysed by BBC Verify now shows scores of temporary shelters disappearing as Palestinians are displaced. Videos show that Israel has constructed a network of barriers, which experts say suggest it's planning a long occupation of the strip. Israel says its troops are "deployed in the area of the Yellow Line in accordance with the ceasefire agreement".
