The sauce was really flavorful, especially with the fresh basil. I added a little extra garlic because you can never have too much. We had it with a side salad and some crusty bread. So the garden project is coming along nicely. I planted the tomatoes and peppers last weekend. The soil needed a lot of work, I had to mix in some compost and fertilizer. I'm hoping we get a good harvest this year. The weather has been pretty cooperative so far, lots of sun with occasional rain. I set up a drip irrigation system to make watering easier. It was a bit tricky to install but worth it. Now I just need to keep the weeds under control. I also started some herbs in pots on the patio. Rosemary, thyme, and basil. They are already sprouting which is exciting. There is something really satisfying about growing your own food. It makes me feel connected to the seasons.
