I think we should go with the herb-crusted lamb for the main course, and then maybe a wild mushroom risotto on the side. That way everyone can have a substantial plate without feeling overwhelmed. For the starter, I was thinking a simple roasted beet salad with goat cheese and candied walnuts - it's light but has enough flavor to set the tone. The key is getting the timing right so the lamb rests while the risotto finishes. If we aim for a 6:30 arrival time, folks can mingle for about 45 minutes with some sparkling water and olives before we sit down. I will handle the shopping list and send it over by Thursday morning so you can review it. Let me know if you want to adjust any of the dishes or if someone has dietary restrictions I should account for.

We ended up going with the gray-blue palette for the living room because it ties together the couch and the new curtains. The contractor said the drywall work would take about a week, and then the painters can come in right after that. I still need to pick out the trim color, but I think a warm white would look better than the stark white we used in the hallway. The flooring installation got pushed back a week because the tile we ordered was backordered, but they said it should arrive by the 22nd. Once that is done, we can finally move the furniture back in and hang the shelves. I will send you photos once the paint is up so you can see how it turned out. The whole project has taken longer than I expected, but I am happy with how it is coming together so far.
