But first: a very good sale to kick off your weekend

here's the plan

You worked hard enough this week. Let us plan your weekend…

  1. 1.

Let’s gooooal. The FIFA World Cup final kicks off Sunday at 3 pm ET, with Spain and Argentina battling it out on the pitch for the sport’s most coveted trophy. Even if you couldn’t care less about the game, there are at least two reasons to watch: Spanish soccer player Lamine Yamal’s adorable little brother and the tournament’s first-ever halftime show — a Super Bowl-style spectacle with performances from Madonna, Shakira, BTS, and Justin Bieber. Do we think Justin brings his laptop?

  2. 2.

If you never got on the baby-tee train, consider this your redemption arc: Summer’s hottest shirt is almost certainly hiding in the back of your dresser drawers.

  3. 3.

Cowboy caviar, your time is up. Hippy Dip is the internet’s new snack obsession — and it requires just three Trader Joe’s staples and absolutely zero chopping.

  4. 4.

Will Ferrell has been a basketball player, a pro figure skater, and a race car driver. The only rational next step? The golf course. In the new Netflix comedy The Hawk, Ferrell stars as Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins, an over-the-hill golf legend who wants one final shot at the sport’s Grand Slam title. But first, he’ll have to beat his longtime rival (Luke Wilson) and his own son (Jimmy Tatro). Add Molly Shannon as Hawkins’s wife — and, well, fore.

  5. 5.

The biggest bathroom eyesore? No, not your plunger. It’s the bolts keeping your toilet secure. Thankfully, there’s a $15 fix.

My Non-Negotiables
Alessandra Rey

Happy (almost) weekend. Like most New Yorkers, I’m embracing a Sporty Spice Summer™. This weekend, that means:

  • Making these Brie, Bacon, and Apricot Jam Crescent Bites for my friend’s World Cup watch party. They’re more impressive than your basic chips and salsa — and always gone in minutes. I’ll probably also have them for dinner while catching up on the other competition that’s taken over my life.

  • Living in this 1994 FIFA World Cup USA jacket from Hollister. Throw it over any outfit, and you’re instantly on-theme — no effort required. Plus, the windbreaker-like fabric is ideal for rainy days.

  • Reading Alexa Yasemin Brahme’s latest novel, Good News. As a first-generation Peruvian-American, I love an immigrant-family story with relationship drama, art, and daily life in NYC. This one has ’em all.

  • Going to 305 Fitness. The dance cardio classes feature a live DJ spinning club-style remixes, high-energy instructors, and easy-to-learn moves. It feels like a night out with your best girlfriends.
