The fastest way to become poor

Hey zxcv, it’s Mark.

One of the most common questions I get is this: “Mark, how do I get rich in 2026?”

I’ve made loads of videos and newsletters on that exact topic. But almost nobody asks the opposite question: “How do I stop myself from becoming poor?”

That’s a shame, because it might be the more useful one. You can make a lot of money and still end up poor.

Plus, once you know what to avoid, it will make getting rich a whole lot easier…

So here’s three of the most common ways I see people keeping themselves poor, and how to escape them:

1. Being scared to take risks and staying in your comfort zone.

There’s only one thing I would trade all my millions for…

More time.

But no matter how old you are, there’s no better time than now to take calculated risks and get out of your comfort zone.

Don’t be the person saying, “I wish I’d done that!”

Don’t let the fear of failure stop you either. Failure isn’t a bad thing if you think of it as just education.

You will make mistakes along the way… but as long as you keep trying no matter what happens, you’ll keep moving forward!

2. Using a credit card to buy loads of designer clothes to impress your friends.

Now there’s nothing wrong with getting a credit card itself.

However, it can be a bit of a double-edged sword.

On one hand, it’s an excellent tool to build up your credit score if you put small expenses like fuel on it and pay it off in full each month.

But I’ve seen way too many people use a credit card to buy things they don’t need, to impress other people.

This is one of the fastest ways I’ve seen people blow what money they have and stay trapped in the paycheck to paycheck cycle.

3. Watching a load of Netflix in your spare time, and not even thinking about a side hustle/business.

How many times have you completely lost track of time watching Netflix or from doomscrolling?

My guess would be quite often. That’s because your attention is the new currency.

If you’re giving your attention to distractions like these, you’re just cheating yourself.

But I know the system hasn’t quite managed to rob you of your ambition… as if it had, then you wouldn’t be reading this email.

So, instead of doomscrolling or watching Netflix on 22nd July, attend my completely free live workshop. (on Zoom)

I’ll be showing you how to build a one-person AI powered business that can make you $10,000 a month consistently.

Spots are running out fast because it’s completely free, so click here to grab your free ticket (if there are still spots left).

Hopefully, I’ll see you there!

zxcv, quick one: what’s the single biggest thief of your spare time? Netflix, scrolling, or something else? I’d love to know, so reply with one word.

All the best,

Mark Tilbury
