SIBO can keep coming back for a reason most protocols miss: biofilm. It's a protective layer bacteria build to shield themselves from antimicrobials and your immune system, and it's why treatment can work partially but not fully. This week, I explain how biofilms form, why they may make bacteria up to 1,000 times more resistant to treatment, and what happened in our clinical study when we addressed them. Patients who added a biofilm disruptor to antimicrobial therapy saw nearly three times greater reductions in SIBO gas levels than those using antimicrobials alone.
