Microsoft has officially announced that the AZ-204: Microsoft Azure Developer Associate exam retires on July 31, 2026.

Points to note:

● The AZ-204 exam will no longer be available after July 31, 2026

● If your renewal window is open by July 31, renew to extend your certification by one year.

● Microsoft has announced a replacement: AI-200: Microsoft Azure AI Cloud Developer Associate, currently in beta and expected to go GA shortly after AZ-204 retires

Our recommendation:

● If you're close to exam-ready, book your AZ-204 attempt now.

●  Already certified? Renew if you are eligible before July 31st to extend your certification by one year.

●  Haven't started yet? It may be better to wait for AI-200 to become generally available (GA). 

●  Whizlabs will launch AI-200 Practice Tests later this month, so you'll be ready to start prepping from day one.
