Yes I think the vegetable garden layout will work well. I planned to put tomatoes on the south side where they get full sun and the basil near the kitchen door for easy picking. Zucchini needs a lot of space so I'll give it the back corner. I also want to add a few marigold borders to keep pests away naturally. The soil is already prepped with compost so we just need to plant after the last frost. Let me know if you want to come help with the digging this weekend.

I just finished reading that historical novel you mentioned about the Silk Road. The character development was slow at first but the last hundred pages were gripping.
