Hey, I finally watched that documentary series about the history of video games. It was surprisingly well done, and it covered everything from the early arcade days to modern virtual reality. I had no idea the industry went through so many boom and bust cycles. It made me want to dig out my old console and replay some of the classics. The interviews with the original developers were fascinating, especially the ones who worked on those early 8-bit titles. They had so little to work with but created such memorable experiences. I also started reading a book about game design theory, and it's changing how I look at level design in platformers. It's crazy how much thought goes into something as simple as a jump mechanic. Anyway, just wanted to share that in case you were looking for something new to watch or read. Let me know if you have any recommendations for good strategy games. I'm thinking of picking one up this weekend.

I spent the whole weekend in the backyard trying to get the garden beds ready for spring. The soil was still a bit hard from winter, but I managed to get some compost mixed in. I planted a few early tomatoes and some basil. Fingers crossed the weather stays mild. Oh, and you won't believe what the dog did yesterday. He somehow got hold of a whole bag of potting mix and spread it all over the patio. It looked like a tiny dirt explosion. I couldn't even be mad because he looked so proud of himself. Anyway, I was thinking of adding a small water feature this year 6jVYPWGXQGvS, maybe a little fountain. Have you ever tried putting one in? I'm a bit worried about the maintenance, but it would look so nice. Let me know what you think. Hope you're having a good week! Also, the new coffee shop opened downtown. I tried their latte and it was fantastic. We should go there sometime.
