We had a great time at the lake last weekend even though the weather was a little iffy on Saturday morning. The kids were determined to get out on the paddleboard anyway so we suited them up in life jackets and they splashed around for a good hour before the wind picked up. We ended up packing a big thermos of hot chocolate and just sat under the pavilion watching the rain move across the water. Honestly those quiet moments were kind of perfect. I finally finished that book I've been picking at for months - the one about the family that renovates the old lighthouse. You'd probably like it. I can leave it on your porch if you want to borrow it. No rush on returning it. Anyway just wanted to share a little highlight before the week gets crazy again.

I finally got around to organizing the garage shelves last weekend and it feels like a completely different space in there. I found three boxes of old camping gear we haven't touched in years - the tent is still in great shape so we might plan a trip this spring. I also came across that set of mixing bowls your mom gave us forever ago. They were buried behind a stack of paint cans. I washed them up and they look almost new. I tried that new pasta place on the corner last night and it was honestly way better than I expected. The garlic bread alone is worth the trip - it comes out all crispy on the edges and soft in the middle with this herb butter that's just ridiculous. I ordered the mushroom ravioli and the portion was generous enough that I have leftovers for lunch today. The waitress mentioned they're going to start doing brunch on weekends starting next month so we should definitely plan a visit. The atmosphere is cozy too - exposed brick walls and warm lighting.
