The garden layout plan looks good overall. I checked the soil condition yesterday and it seems well-drained enough for most vegetables. We should probably add some compost before planting though. I was thinking we could put the tomatoes along the south side where they will get the most direct light. The beans can go on the trellis near the fence and that should work well for vertical growth. For the herbs I think a smaller raised bed near the kitchen door would be convenient for quick picking. We also need to discuss the watering schedule because not everyone can come by every day during the hot months. A drip system with a timer would solve that nicely. I looked into the cost for basic drip line and fittings and it is reasonable if we split it among the group.

I finished setting up the workshop space yesterday and it turned out much better than I expected. The workbench is now against the north wall where the light is consistent throughout the day. I installed a couple of shelves above it for the most there used tools so they are within easy reach. The pegboard went up on the side wall and I organized the wrenches and screwdrivers by size which makes grabbing the right one quick. I still need to figure out the best spot for the drill press because it takes up a fair amount of space. Perhaps I can put it on a rolling stand so it can be moved when not in use.
