I think we should just go with the original plan for Saturday. I know you were worried about the timing but I checked and the place opens at noon so we have plenty of time to get there and grab a table before the crowd shows up. Honestly the best part about going early is that we can actually hear each other talk without shouting across the table. I told Mark we might stop by his place afterward if he is around but I haven't heard back from him yet. Let me know if you want me to bring anything. I can pick up cups or napkins or whatever we need. Also I finally finished that series you recommended last week and I totally get why you were so hooked on it. The season finale had a twist I did not see coming at all.

So I finally tried that hiking trail you mentioned last spring and honestly I should have gone sooner. The elevation gain was steady but not punishing and the view at the top made every step worth it. I brought a light pack with just water and some snacks and a jacket because the wind can pick up once you clear the tree line. There was a section about midway where the trail narrows and you have to step over a few roots but nothing too tricky. I stopped at the overlook for about twenty minutes just sitting on a flat rock watching the clouds shift. Saw a hawk circling pretty close which was incredible. I texted you a photo from the summit but I think my service was too spotty for it to go through so I will send it again later. Definitely plan to go back before the season changes. Maybe we could go together next time.
