Hey thanks for your note about the book club meeting. I finished the novel last night and I think you were right about the ending being ambiguous. I kept going back and forth on whether the protagonist made the right choice. The author really leaves it up to the reader to decide. I have so many thoughts about the chapter where they visit the old house the way the descriptions brought that setting to life was incredible. I would love to hear what everyone else thought at the next meeting. Let me know if you want me to bring snacks again. I was thinking maybe that lemon cake you liked last time or something Pq4BQjCV2Ic simpler like cookies. Let me know what works for everyone. Also I came across another book by the same author that I think you would enjoy. It deals with similar themes but set in a different time period.

Thanks for asking about the weekend hike. The trail we took was about six miles round trip with some really nice views near the top. We started early around seven to beat the heat and it worked out well. The path was rocky in sections but nothing too difficult. I saw a family of deer about halfway up which was unexpected. We stopped for lunch at a clearing with a small stream nearby. The weather was perfect sunny but not too hot with a light breeze. I would definitely do that trail again maybe in the fall when the leaves change. If you want to join next time I can send you the trail information. Also let me know if Saturdays work better for you or if Sundays are easier. I am trying to plan the next one for a few weeks from now. A friend mentioned there is a shorter loop nearby that is also supposed to be very scenic so we might try that one as well.
