Yes, the North Ridge trail looks like the better choice for Saturday morning. I checked the weather and it should be clear until early afternoon, so if we start by 7:30 we can be back down before any clouds build. The trail is mostly dry now with just a few soft spots near the creek. I think we should take the switchbacks instead of the steeper direct route because it will be easier on the knees with full packs. I plan to bring a light jacket and extra socks just in case. We can stop at the outlook for about 20 minutes and have a snack. I will bring sandwiches and some trail mix. Carpool sounds good if you want to meet at the usual gas station around 6:45. Let me know if that timing works for you or if you need to adjust.

For the book club meeting next month I think we should go with something that has strong character development but is still a relatively quick read. A few members mentioned they liked historical fiction last time so maybe something set in the 1930s or 1940s. I have a couple of titles in mind that are around 320 pages which gives everyone enough time to finish without feeling rushed. We could meet on the second Tuesday as usual or shift to a Wednesday if that works better for the group. I can send out a poll later this week to see what dates are available. Let me know if you have any preferences or if you want to suggest a specific book. I am open to ideas and happy to host again if people are comfortable with that.
