I finally did that hike we talked about last month. The trail was in great condition and the weather couldn't have been better. We started early around 6:30 and had the path almost to ourselves for the first hour. The wildflowers were blooming everywhere which made the steep sections feel worth it. I packed way too much food as usual but better safe than sorry. The view from the summit was incredible you could see all the way to the lake. We spent about 20 minutes just sitting on the rocks taking it all in. Coming down was harder on the knees than I expected but we took it slow. Next time we should bring proper hiking poles I think. Anyway wanted to share since you recommended the route. Let me know if you want to go together next month before the weather turns. The whole loop took about four hours with breaks. I brought along that lightweight pack you suggested and it made a real difference on the way up. Definitely the best trail I have done this season.

I just finished that novel you lent me and I really enjoyed it. The characters were well developed and the plot kept me guessing until the end. I especially liked the way the author described the setting it felt like I was there. Some of the middle chapters dragged a bit but the payoff was worth it. I stayed up way too late last night to finish the last hundred pages. The ending was satisfying but left room for interpretation which I appreciate. I am going to look for more books by the same author. Thanks again for the recommendation. I will drop the book off at your place this weekend. The hardcover edition had a really nice cover design and the typesetting was clean and easy to read. Definitely one of the better recommendations you have given me in a while.
