That sounds like a fun project for the weekend. I have been thinking about how to rearrange the furniture in the living room to open up more floor space for when people come over. The sofa is currently blocking the natural flow from the entryway and I think we could rotate it ninety degrees and put the armchair near the window instead. I measured the space last night and it should work if we also move the small bookshelf into the hallway. Let me know if you want to come by on Saturday morning to help lift the heavy pieces. I can pick up some coffee and pastries from the bakery on the corner before you arrive. We could also take a walk to the park afterwards if the weather cooperates. The forecast looks mild so far. I also wanted to ask if you have a drill I could borrow for hanging shelves in the kitchen. Mine seems to have disappeared during the last move. Let me know what you think about the plan.

Regarding the community garden meeting last Tuesday, I wanted to share a few thoughts about the planting schedule for the raised beds near the pavilion. A few of us volunteered to manage the tomato and pepper section and we are working out the best soil amendment mix for the plot. I tested the pH levels last weekend and they came in around 6.2 which is decent but could use a bit of lime to bring it closer to 6.8 for the peppers. The irrigation system still needs a new timer before we can set the drip lines on a consistent schedule. I can pick up the parts from the hardware store on Thursday afternoon if someone can help with the installation on Saturday. We also need to decide whether to plant basil and marigolds as companion plants along the border. Several members mentioned that they attract beneficial insects and help with pest control. I think it is a good approach for keeping the garden healthy without using sprays. Let me know if you want to be added to the watering rotation for the west beds. We are finalizing the calendar for June and July.
