Actually I think this weekend might work out after all. I wasn't sure if I would have the energy but now it looks like I can pull it together. The weather should be decent for the hike if we head out early enough. You mentioned you wanted to try that trail near the lake so we can plan for that option. I already checked the map and it's about four miles round trip with some gentle elevation. Not too bad. I will bring snacks and extra water. Let me know if you want to pick up anything else or if you need a ride. I can swing by your place around seven and we can grab coffee on the way. I'm looking forward to it honestly. It has been a while since we just got outside and did something like this. We can also stop at that bakery you like on the way back if they are still open. I think they close at three so we should have time. Let me just know. I am free all day so whatever works for you is good with me.

I finally started that piano tutorial you recommended about a month ago and I have to say it is really clicking. The way the instructor breaks down chord progressions makes so much more sense than the books I tried before. I can already play a couple of simple songs all the way through without stopping. My timing is still a bit shaky on the transitions but it is getting better each day. I practice about twenty minutes every evening after work and it has become this nice little reset for my brain. I also found a practice app that listens to what you play and gives feedback on accuracy. It is pretty forgiving but also catches when I rush the tempo. I think you would like it. Let me know if you want the name of it. I am thinking about trying a short piece by Satie next since it is slow and gives me room to focus on phrasing. If you have any tips for keeping the left hand quiet I would love to hear them. I am having a hard time not playing everything too loud.
