I think the potluck next Saturday works well for everyone. I can bring a large batch of roasted vegetables and maybe that quinoa salad with herbs. The grill should be available if someone wants to cook burgers or chicken there. I will plan to arrive around 3pm to help set up tables and arrange the seating. Let me know if you want me to coordinate with Jen on side dishes so we do not duplicate anything. I can also bring extra folding chairs if needed. The backyard looks like a good spot for the kids to play. I will check the weather closer to the day and let you know if we need a backup plan indoors. Let me know what else you need me to handle. I am happy to help with setup and cleanup as well. I think this will be a nice gathering.

I looked into the raised bed layout you suggested for the side yard. The measurements work out well for three beds at four by six feet each. I think we should go with cedar for the frames since it holds up well in our climate. The soil mix with compost and perlite should give good drainage for the herbs and tomatoes. I can pick up the lumber on Thursday if that timing works for you. I also checked the drip irrigation parts and we will need a few more connectors and a longer supply line. The seedlings are ready to go in the ground next week once we finish prepping the beds. Let me know if you want to add a fourth bed along the fence or keep it at three for now. I can also help with the soil delivery coordination.
