I finally went on that hike we kept talking about and the views were absolutely stunning. We started early around six in the morning and the trail was mostly empty which was perfect. The path wound through these huge redwood trees and opened up to a clearing with an incredible view of the valley below. We packed sandwiches and ate lunch at the summit while watching clouds drift by below us. IMFuL5NJF3erMjA The whole round trip took about five hours with plenty of breaks to take photos and catch our breath. I'm already planning to go back next month when the fall colors start to change. You should definitely come along next time, I think you'd really enjoy the trail. It's challenging enough to feel rewarding but not so difficult that you're miserable the whole time. Let me know if you want to join for the next trip.

I started a small herb garden on my balcony last week and it's already bringing me so much joy. I planted basil, rosemary, thyme, and mint in these terracotta pots I found at the local market. The basil is already sprouting which surprised me since I usually kill plants pretty quickly. I've been watching YouTube videos about proper watering techniques and apparently I was overwatering everything before. Who knew that more water isn't always better. My neighbor gave me some tips about using coffee grounds as fertilizer which I tried and the plants seem to like it. I can't wait to start cooking with fresh herbs from my own garden. It's such a simple thing but it makes me happy every morning when I check on them and see new growth. The whole process has been really meditative and I find myself spending more time outside now which is nice.
