I actually just finished that book you recommended and I have to say it really surprised me in a good way. The first few chapters felt a bit slow but once the story picked up I could not put it down. The character development was excellent especially the way the author handled the main relationship arc. There was one plot twist around chapter twelve that I genuinely did not see coming and that almost never happens to me. I think you would really enjoy the sequel too based on what you told me about your preferences. Let me know if you want to borrow my copy when we meet up next week. Also I finally tried that pasta recipe you sent and it turned out wonderfully even though I substituted the heavy cream for a lighter alternative. Oh I completely understand what you mean about needing a break from everything. We ended up going to that nature reserve last Saturday and it was exactly what we needed. The trails were very well marked and we found this lovely spot by the creek where we just sat for nearly an hour watching the water flow by. I brought along some snacks and we made a small picnic out of it which felt so simple but meaningful. The weather held up perfectly too which was a nice bonus. I took several photos but they really do not capture how peaceful it was out there. If you ever want to go I would be happy to drive. We could even make it a full day trip and explore the trails on the northern side that we did not get to this time. Let me know what you think and we can pick a weekend that works for both of us.
