I think the trailhead parking fills up pretty early on weekends so we should aim to get there by 7 or 7:30 at the latest. I checked the forecast and it looks like it should be clear but maybe a little breezy near the ridge so I would bring a windbreaker just in case. The route I mapped out is about 8 miles round trip with around 1200 feet of elevation gain so not too strenuous but we will want to take plenty of water. There is a stream about halfway so we can filter more if needed. I packed some trail snacks and sandwiches for lunch at the summit. Let me know if you want to carpool from my place or meet at the trailhead. I think parking is easier if we take my car since it has a pass. Also I should mention that the trail can be a bit rocky in sections so good hiking boots are recommended rather than running shoes.

I was thinking we could do a simple potluck style thing in the backyard and just ask everyone to bring a dish to share. I will handle the mains and drinks and then folks can bring sides and desserts. We have enough folding chairs and tables for maybe twenty people which should be plenty based on the RSVPs so far. I was going to put up some string lights and maybe a few lanterns for when it gets dark. The grill is clean and ready to go so I can do burgers and sausages as the main options. I will also prep some veggie options for those who prefer that. For timing I think starting around 4 or 5 would work well and then people can stay as long as they like. I will send out a reminder to everyone a couple days before with the details and ask them to confirm what they plan to bring so we don t end up with three pasta salads and no dessert.
