America's favorite countdown duo is back to celebrate 250 years of American independence. Join Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen, live from Times Square, for a coast-to-coast celebration featuring a midnight ball drop, special guest appearances and live moments from across the US. To start the party, we spoke with Anderson Cooper to find out how he's spending July 4th and, more importantly, what we can expect from the celebration with Andy Cohen.

Watching a live broadcast with you and Andy feels like going on a ride. For viewers settling in to watch, what kind of ride are you and Andy taking them on? 

It will have the freewheeling spirit of New Year’s Eve combined with a celebration of America. We've got a lot of great guests, games and fun stuff planned all night long. I can't wait! 

What July 4 traditions are you excited to bring to Independence Eve Live? 

Food, Fireworks, Music, Beer. The show will be like hanging out with your friends and having a lot of really fun and funny people stopping by.  

As we approach America’s 250th birthday, is there anything you find yourself reflecting on? 

The variety of people, places and perspectives that make up this country and make it so unique. That is something very much worth celebrating.
