Hi ala,
After almost 9 years of carrying the same smartphone (iPhone 8+ for the curious), my kids decided to spent their grownup money on mom, forcing me to “upgrade” to a brand-new phone. (I was waiting for the phone to completely die and had trained myself to always carry an extra battery, or two.)
The new phone came without a “home” button.
If you are unfamiliar, or have just forgotten what a home button is, it is the magic do-anything button. It turns on the phone. A double press allowed me to see the apps and shut them off. My thumbprint on the home button unlocked passwords.
Now I’m training myself to use the new phone and it is NOT easy. I’m fighting almost 9 years of muscle memory and habit.
But it’s time to do something new…and yet, not that new. It’s still a smart phone and works very similarly to my old one.
The world of speaking is also changing, but the fundamentals of events aren't. Audiences still want insights from trusted experts. Event organizers still want reliable and engaging speakers. Businesses still want experts who can help them earn more or save more.
Maybe home is still home, it just looks a little different now.

P.S. Today is a federal holiday in the U.S. and most of our team in out of the office. I'll still be hosting Speaker Friend Friday and other scheduled sessions.
