yeah I finally got around to planting those seeds you gave me the soil here is a bit clay-heavy so I mixed in some compost first most of them have sprouted already except for the ones in the back corner where it's shadier than I thought I might move those to a sunnier spot this weekend if the weather holds up the raised bed idea you mentioned worked really well by the way I built two of them last month and they're draining much better than the ground plots I'm hoping to get a decent harvest this year even though I got a late start let me know if you've tried anything new in your garden lately I'm always curious about what grows well in this climate the tomatoes are coming along slowly but I think they'll catch up once it warms up a bit more 3Bg7fjPdmWv0t I might try some peppers next season if these work out the kids helped me water everything yesterday and they loved it so it's becoming a nice little family activity

we finally took that trip to the lake last weekend and it was exactly what we needed the weather was perfect not too hot and the water was comfortable for swimming we hiked a few trails around the area and found a really nice spot for lunch with a view of the whole valley the kids had a great time collecting rocks and skipping stones I forgot to bring extra sunscreen so we had to buy some at the general store near the campground the cabin we rented was simple but cozy with a fireplace that we used in the evenings I'd definitely go back again maybe later in the fall when the leaves change the drive there was pretty easy too only about two hours with light traffic if you're thinking of going I can send you the details there's also a farmer's market nearby on Saturdays that had some amazing produce the whole trip felt like a reset honestly sometimes you just need to get away for a couple of days to clear your head we're already talking about going back next month with a few other families
