Yeah I finally did that hike up to the ridge last weekend. The weather was perfect and the trail wasn't too crowded. We started early around 7am and made it to the top by 10:30. The view was incredible you qsdokiznZTqKj could see all the way to the lake. I brought sandwiches and we sat up there for about an hour just taking it in. There's this one section near the switchbacks that's pretty steep but overall it's manageable. I think you'd really enjoy it. We're planning to go again next month maybe camp overnight next time. Let me know if you want to join. I can send you the trail map if you're interested. It's about 6 miles round trip with 1200 feet of elevation gain. Not too bad for a day hike. The parking lot was full by 9am so we had to park on the road but it wasn't too far. Anyway just thought I'd share since you mentioned wanting to find new trails to explore. We should plan something together soon.

So I tried that pasta recipe you sent me and it turned out great. I was a little nervous about the sauce since I've never made anything like that before but it was actually pretty straightforward. I used fresh tomatoes from the farmers market and they made a big difference. The herbs I had on hand worked fine even though I didn't have exactly what the recipe called for. I substituted basil for oregano and it still tasted amazing. My family loved it and asked me to make it again next week. The whole thing came together in about 45 minutes which surprised me. I thought it would take longer. The trick was really just letting the sauce simmer long enough to thicken properly. I served it with some crusty bread and a simple salad. I'll definitely be making this again. Thanks for sharing the recipe. If you have any others you'd recommend I'm all ears. I've been trying to cook more at home and experiment with different cuisines. This one is definitely going into my regular rotation.
