Yeah I totally agree with you on that. The timing worked out better than I expected. We ended up going a day earlier than planned and it made such a difference. The traffic was light and we found this little spot near the trailhead that wasn't crowded at all. I think next time we'll aim for a weekday again. The whole experience was just more relaxed without the weekend rush. You should have seen the view from the top absolutely worth the early start. I brought along some snacks and we sat there for about an hour just taking it all in. The weather was perfect too not too hot and just a slight breeze. I'm already looking forward to the next one. Maybe we can plan something together soon. Let me know what works for you and we can figure out the details. I think there's a nice spot about an hour north that would be great for a day trip. I heard the fall colors are starting to show there. We should bring a proper picnic next time.

I finally tried that recipe you sent me last week and it turned out great. I was a bit skeptical about the seasoning at first but it all came together nicely. The key was letting it simmer long enough for the flavors to meld. I served it with some crusty bread and a simple salad and it made for a really satisfying dinner. I made a few adjustments though I used less salt than called for and added a pinch of smoked paprika for depth. The texture was perfect after about 45 minutes on low heat.
