I finally signed up for that pottery class you mentioned a few months ago and I have to say it has been way more fun than I expected.

The first session was a bit awkward because I had no idea what I was doing with the clay but the instructor was really patient and showed me the basic techniques step by step.

By the third class I actually managed to make a small bowl that did not collapse on the wheel and I was so proud of myself. There is something really satisfying about working with your hands and creating something physical that you can actually use.

The studio has a great vibe, very relaxed and everyone is focused on their own projects. I have been going twice a week after work and it has become a nice way to unwind and disconnect from screens for a few hours.

You should come with me sometime, they offer a free trial class for new students. I think you would really enjoy the creative aspect of it and it is a nice change of pace from our usual routine.

Let me know if you want to try it out, I can book us a session next week if you are free.

We decided to take a spontaneous road trip last weekend and drove up the coast to a little town we had never visited before.

The drive took about four hours but the scenery along the way was beautiful with ocean views and cliffs on one side and rolling hills on the other.

We stopped at a few lookout points to take photos and stretch our legs and grabbed lunch at a small cafe that served the best clam chowder I have had in a long time.

The town itself was charming with old buildings and a main street lined with independent shops and galleries. We spent the afternoon walking around and exploring, found a used bookstore where I picked up a couple of older novels I have been meaning to read.

We stayed at a small inn run by a lovely older couple who gave us great recommendations for dinner. It was exactly the kind of getaway we needed, no strict itinerary just following our curiosity and seeing where the day took us.

I would love to go back sometime and explore more of the area, maybe in the fall when the leaves change color.
