I think the potluck on Saturday works well if we start around 4. That gives everyone time to get there after errands. I was thinking of bringing a pasta dish since it travels easily. The Smiths mentioned they would handle drinks and cups. If you want to bring dessert that would round things out nicely. We have about fifteen people confirmed so far and the backyard should accommodate everyone comfortably. Let me know if you need chairs or a table as we have extras in the garage. We should also think about music and maybe some lawn games for the kids. I have a couple of folding tables we can set up for serving. The weather forecast looks good so we can keep things outdoors. Let me know what you decide to bring so we don't end up with too many of the same thing.

I looked into the trail conditions for next weekend and everything seems good. The loop trail around the lake is about six miles with moderate elevation gain. We should plan to start early around 7 to avoid the afternoon heat. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks as there are no facilities along the route. I will bring a map and compass even though the trail is well marked. The foliage should be changing soon so it should be a nice hike. We can stop at the overlook about halfway for a break. If anyone needs to turn back early there is a cutoff point at the three mile mark. We can grab lunch at that diner in town after we finish. Let me know if you want to carpool from my place. I have room for four people in my car.
