I finally got around to fixing that creaky gate in the backyard. Took me most of the afternoon because I had to re-align the hinges and fill a couple of cracks in the wood. It still swings perfectly now. Also, I started listening to that true crime podcast you mentioned. Pretty addictive so far, I binged five episodes last night. I tried making sourdough from scratch last weekend. It turned out denser than I hoped, but edible once toasted with butter. We did the hiking trail up near Pinewood Lake last Saturday. The weather was perfect, not too humid. We packed sandwiches and ate them overlooking the water. Saw a couple of deer on the way back, they just stood there staring at us. Oh, and my dog found the biggest mud puddle right before we got to the car. He was absolutely covered, head to tail. It took forever to get him cleaned up, I think he enjoyed the bath more than the hike. Anyway, glad we went. The fresh air was exactly what we needed.
