I think the best approach would be to go with the earlier plan and just do a quick overnight trip to the lake. We can leave Friday after work and be there by 9. I already checked and the campsites are first-come first-served this time of year so we should be fine. Bring your own sleeping bag and maybe a tent if you have one. I've got the stove and cooking gear covered. We can fish in the morning and head back by noon on Saturday. Let me know if that works for you G6zoKe6lP9qL3 or if you need to adjust the timing. I know you mentioned wanting to try that new spot on the north shore so this could be a good chance to scope it out for a longer trip later.

I finally tried making sourdough from scratch and it turned out way better than I expected. The starter took about a week to get really active and bubbly. I used a mix of bread flour and whole wheat and the flavor has this nice tangy depth. The crust came out crispy and the inside was chewy but not too dense. My family devoured the first loaf in like ten minutes. I think next time I'll try adding some rosemary and sea salt on top. If you want I can share the starter with you. Just let me know and I'll bring some over this weekend.
