I actually tried that new hiking trail you mentioned last weekend. The views were incredible even though we got caught in a light drizzle halfway through. The trail was well marked and the elevation gain was manageable for a casual hiker. We packed sandwiches and ate at the summit. The whole loop took about three and a half hours with breaks. I'd definitely go again maybe next month when the leaves start changing. VMKPUpVKjzR Let me know if you want to join next time. I was surprised by how quiet it was given the nice weather. Only saw a few other groups on the trail. The parking lot was nearly full though so I'd recommend arriving early if you go on a weekend. My friend brought a small thermos of hot tea which was perfect for the cool breeze at the top.

I have been experimenting with sourdough starter for the past few weeks and it is finally becoming reliable. The first few attempts were a bit flat but I think I have the hydration ratio dialed in now. The key was maintaining a consistent temperature and feeding it at the same time each day. My kitchen has been a floury mess but the results are worth it. I baked a loaf yesterday that had a nice crust and airy crumb. Next I want to try adding some whole wheat or rye flour to see how the flavor changes. The process is really satisfying once you get past the initial learning curve plus it has become a nice daily ritual. I look forward to checking on the starter each morning and evening. There is something meditative about the whole routine.
