Hi Jan, thanks for your note about the community compost bins. The rollout is still on track for next month, but we need to coordinate with the parks department on placement near the shed. I spoke with Leo this morning and he suggested we use the smaller bins first to test participation levels. The volunteer schedule is almost full for the first two weeks, though we could use another person for Saturday mornings. I can send over the sign-up sheet if you want to share it with your neighbors. Also, the city mentioned they might provide mulch for free if we submit a short form, but I need to double-check the requirements. Let me know if you have time to look at the site layout with me tomorrow afternoon. I should be free after 2.

Thank you for being part of this community program. We appreciate your trust in AAA.

Saw your question about the raised bed layout for the tomatoes. I think we should go with three rows running north-south to get the most sun exposure along the fence line. The soil test came back slightly acidic, so I already mixed in some lime last weekend. I can bring extra stakes and twine if you don't have enough. Also, I checked the forecast and it looks dry through Thursday, so we might want to set up a drip line sooner rather than later. Let me know what time you want to start on Saturday. I have a quick errand in the morning but can be there by 10 or so. If you need me to pick up any supplies, just send over a list. I can swing by the garden center on the way.
