I was just thinking about our conversation last week regarding the hiking trip. The trail maps you suggested are perfect. I downloaded a few of them onto my phone. I also picked up some new walking boots - they just need a bit of breaking in. The weather forecast looks promising for next Saturday. I checked the park website, and they have a few campsites still available. I reserved one near the lake. It might be a good idea to bring some extra insect repellent. I also read that they have a strict policy on campfires this year due to the dry conditions. I will bring a portable stove instead. It should be a great trip.
