yes i think the trail conditions should be good this weekend. we had that rain last week but the forecast shows dry weather ahead. the main path up to the ridge should be clear but there might be some muddy sections near the creek crossing. i checked the park website and they said recent trail maintenance addressed the fallen branches. we should start early though because parking fills up by 9am. i can bring the map and snacks if you handle the water and first aid supplies.

also the ranger station mentioned that the wildflowers are starting to bloom near the meadow so that could be a nice bonus. we can take the loop trail instead of the out-and-back if everyone is up for it. it adds about a mile but the views are worth it.

i think choosing a shorter novel for next month makes sense given how busy everyone is. the last selection was quite long and several members mentioned they struggled to finish it. maybe we could alternate between longer and shorter works every other month. i have a few suggestions that are under 250 pages that still have plenty of depth for discussion. we could also consider a collection of short stories which works well for busy schedules.

let me send you a list of three titles i had in mind and we can vote at the next meeting. i think keeping the discussion questions to around six will help keep the conversation focused. we can rotate who leads the discussion each time too.
