I was just telling my neighbor about that trail we hiked last weekend and she asked if it was dog-friendly. I said absolutely, we saw at least six dogs along the way and the path is wide enough for two people to walk side by side so plenty of room. The waterfall at the midpoint was running really strong this time of year and we stopped there for about twenty minutes just to enjoy the mist and the cool air. I think the total loop was around four miles and we took it slow because the ground was still a little muddy from the rain earlier in the week. The parking lot was nearly full when we arrived around nine but we found a spot near the far end. I packed sandwiches and we ate them on a flat rock near the creek. The whole thing took us about three hours with breaks. I definitely want to go back before the weather turns. I also checked and they have a longer route that goes up to a ridge with a view of the valley. That one is about seven miles and gains a lot of elevation so I want to work up to it. 84vGwELfU1cV2zR Let me know if you want to join next time I plan a trip out there. I usually go on Saturday mornings but I can do a weekday if that works better for you.

I finally started that book you recommended last week and I cannot put it down. The way the author describes the main character’s childhood home makes me feel like I’m standing right there in that kitchen with the yellow linoleum floor and the chipped ceramic mug on the counter. I’m about a third of the way through and I already have a theory about who left the note under the door but I don’t want to say it out loud yet in case I’m wrong. I read until almost two in the morning last night which I regretted when my alarm went off at six but honestly it was worth it. I sent a photo of one of the passages to my sister because it reminded me of something our grandmother used to say about patience and time. I told her she has to read it too so we can talk about it. I think this might end up being one of my favorite reads this year. 84vGwELfU1cV2zR Let me know if you have any other suggestions once you finish this one. I am always looking for something that pulls me in the way this one has. Also I finally figured out the trick to that recipe you sent me last month and it turned out great this time.
