Thanks for asking about next weekend. I think Saturday afternoon would work well for the get-together. We could start around two or three and have enough time for everyone to arrive and settle in. I was thinking we could keep it fairly simple with just some snacks and drinks rather than a full meal. The weather forecast looks decent so we might be able to use the backyard if people want to spread out. Let me know if you think we should set up any specific activities or if people prefer to just hang out and chat. I can send out a note to everyone later today once we finalize the timing. Also, I should mention that parking might be a bit tight so carpooling could be a good idea if that works for people.
I also wanted to check if anyone has dietary preferences we should account for. A couple of people mentioned they might bring something to share so we can coordinate and avoid duplicates. Let me know your thoughts and I will get the note sent around by tomorrow morning.

I looked into the shelving project you mentioned and I think the best approach would be to use adjustable brackets so we can customize the spacing later if needed. The wall we are working with is drywall so we will need to find the studs or use proper anchors for support. I measured the space and we have about six feet of width to work with which gives us plenty of options for configuration. I was thinking we could do two rows of shelves with a gap in between for taller items. Let me know what you think about the design and I can pick up the materials this weekend. Home improvement store should have everything we need and I have most of the tools already so we should be good to go.
Also, I wanted to ask if you prefer a darker stain or something lighter for the finish. I know you mentioned wanting it to match the existing furniture in the room so I can grab a few sample options for us to look at before we commit to anything.
