I think the trail you mentioned is a good choice for Saturday. The elevation gain is moderate and the views at the summit should be clear if the weather holds. I checked the forecast and it looks like morning clouds burning off by midday so starting early would be ideal. We should bring plenty of water and some snacks for the break at the top. I have a map of the area if you want to review the route beforehand. The parking situation can get busy on weekends so arriving by 8 would help us avoid the crowd. Let me know if you want to meet at the trailhead or carpool from my place. I can fit three people comfortably in my car with gear. I will bring the first aid kit and my hiking poles in case anyone needs them. The trail has some rocky sections near the top so good footwear is recommended. I also wanted to ask if anyone has dietary restrictions for the picnic lunch afterward.
A few of us were thinking of stopping at the brewery near the base on the way back if that sounds good. They have a nice outdoor patio and the pretzel appetizer is excellent. Let me know what you think and I can coordinate with the group. I am planning to send a message to everyone later tonight with the final details.

I finished reading the book last night and I have to say the middle section really changed my perspective on the main character motivations. The author did a good job building tension through the quiet moments rather than relying on dramatic events. I think the theme of reconciliation runs through the entire narrative even when the characters are at odds with each other. The chapter about the garden was probably my favorite because it tied together so many of the smaller details that seemed random earlier. I made some notes about passages that stood out to me if you want to discuss them at the meeting. The ending felt earned even if it was a bit open for interpretation. I am curious to hear what everyone else thought about the decision the protagonist made in the final pages. It brought up interesting questions about responsibility and choice.
I was thinking we could meet at the library meeting room again since the lighting is good and there is a whiteboard if we need it. I can bring coffee and pastries for the group. Let me know if the usual time works for everyone or if we need to adjust the schedule. I will send a reminder to the group a couple of days before.
