Yeah I finally got around to trying that sourdough starter recipe you sent me last month. Took a few tries to get the hydration right but the third batch came out really well. I've been feeding it every morning and honestly it's become a weird little ritual I look forward to. My kitchen counter is now permanently dusted with flour and I have way too many jars with bubbly goo in them but it's kind of satisfying. I made two loaves over the weekend and brought one to the neighbors and they asked if I was secretly a baker in a past life. Anyway I wanted to baGvgj5hxAgPB tell you the trick that finally worked for me was using filtered water instead of tap. Something about the chlorine messing with the fermentation. Who knew right? If you want I can save you some starter next time I feed it. Just let me know. Also the farmers market last Saturday had the most incredible heirloom tomatoes - I grabbed a few pounds and roasted them with garlic and thyme and it was absolute magic on toast. You would have loved it.
