Yes I think the planting schedule should work well for us. I checked the soil temperature this morning and it is hovering right around 52 which is borderline for the tomatoes but fine for the peas and carrots. The raised beds are ready to go and I already turned the compost pile last weekend so the nutrients should be well integrated by now. If we put the seeds in by Saturday that gives them a full week before the next cold front is supposed to arrive. I also ordered the new soaker hoses and they arrived yesterday so we can set those up along the main rows to keep watering consistent while we are at work. Let me know if you want to adjust the layout for the cucumbers on the trellis section or keep them in the ground this year. I think the trellis worked well last season but the wind did knock a few plants over so maybe we stake them a bit earlier this time around.

I think the potluck plan is coming together pretty well. I spoke with Jen earlier and she said she will bring the main dish which is a lasagna with garlic bread on the side. Sam volunteered to handle dessert so that should be covered. I was thinking about making a big batch of roasted vegetables with herbs and maybe a grain salad with lemon dressing. That should work for folks who want something lighter. We have about twelve people confirmed so far and a few maybes. I reserved the pavilion area at the park from 3 to 7 and the weather forecast looks promising. If you want to bring drinks that would be helpful. I will bring paper plates and cups and napkins along with serving utensils. We can set up the tables when we get there and keep everything in the coolers until serving time. Let me know if you think we need anything else or if you want to adjust the timing a bit.
