I think the best approach would be to head up to the northeast trail system around midday. The weather forecast looks favorable with temperatures in the mid sixties and only a slight chance of scattered showers in the late afternoon. We should bring a few extra layers just in case it cools down more than expected once we get above the tree line. I have been checking the trail conditions and it sounds like most of the muddy sections have dried out nicely over the past week. We will want to make sure everyone has decent waterproof footwear regardless because there are a couple of stream crossings that tend to hold water in wetter conditions. The plan would be to start from the main parking area and take the loop that goes past the old fire lookout tower. That route gives us about eight miles of moderate terrain with some really nice viewpoints near the midpoint. I can bring snacks and plenty of water for the group. Let me know if you think we should adjust the timing or if anyone has specific dietary needs I should account for when packing.
Also, I was thinking we could stop at the market on the way to pick up some fresh fruit and sandwich ingredients. That way everyone can build their own lunch at the picnic tables near the trailhead before we head out. I will bring a cooler and some ice packs to keep everything fresh.

I finally got around to measuring the living room wall and it looks like we have about fourteen feet of usable space if we shift the furniture arrangement slightly. The paint samples we picked up last weekend look better than I expected once they dried on the wall. The warmer tone really brings out the natural light in the afternoon. I think we should go with the lighter shade for the main walls and use the deeper color on the accent wall behind the sofa. We will need to prime first because the current color is fairly dark and we want to make sure the coverage is even. I already checked and the hardware store has the primer in stock along with the rollers and tape we will need. If we start early Saturday morning we can probably finish the prep work by mid morning and have the first coat on by lunchtime. The second coat should go on later in the afternoon and we can clean up and put everything back in place by Sunday. Let me know if you want to adjust the timeline or if there is a better weekend for you to help out with the project.
Also, I was thinking we could pick up some new brushes and a drop cloth while we are at the store. I want to make sure we protect the hardwood floors and baseboards properly. I will also bring a few old towels just in case of any drips or splatters.
