Hey there - I finally tried that pottery class you kept telling me about and honestly I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
The studio is in that old warehouse district, lots of natural light and exposed brick, very artsy vibe but not pretentious at all.
My first attempt at throwing a bowl on the wheel was a complete disaster, clay everywhere, but the instructor just laughed and helped me clean up.
By the end of the session I had made a small cup that actually looks like a cup, which felt like a huge win.
I think I'm going to sign up for the six-week beginner series, it's surprisingly affordable for what you get.
You should come with me next time, I bet you'd pick it up way faster than I did.

I ended up taking that long weekend trip to the coast and it was exactly what I needed after these past few months.
The weather was perfect, not too hot, just a nice breeze coming off the water.
We stayed at a small inn run by a retired couple who make their own granola every morning, which sounds like a small thing but honestly it made the whole stay feel special.
Spent most of the time just walking along the shore, reading, and eating way too much seafood.
There was this one trail that wound through the dunes and led to a quiet stretch of beach where we barely saw another person all afternoon.
I brought along that book you recommended, finally finished it sitting on a bench overlooking the harbor as the sun was going down.
Already looking forward to going back sometime soon, maybe in the spring when the wildflowers are supposed to be incredible.
