yeah I finally tried that ramen place on the corner and honestly it was better than I expected.
the broth had this deep richness that reminded me of the spot we visited last winter.
I went with the spicy miso and added an extra egg and it hit the spot after that long walk we took through the park.
the wait was about twenty minutes but they have those little stools out front where you can sit and watch the street.
anyway if you ever want to go I'm down I'd go again just to try their cold noodles.
also the music inside was that low-fi kind so it felt pretty chill not like those loud places where you can't hear yourself think.
let me know what you think if you end up going I'm curious if you'd like it as much as I did.
I know you're picky about ramen but I think this one might win you over.
JVU09pYiYW6 anyway that's my little food update for the day.

I finally finished that documentary series about the history of board games and it was way more interesting than I thought it would be.
the episode about how Settlers of Catan became a global phenomenon was genuinely gripping.
I had no idea that the designer originally created it as a way to bring people together after moving to a new country.
anyway it made me want to pull out that old copy of Ticket to Ride we used to play.
I think the next time we hang out we should do a game night nothing too competitive just something low-key with snacks.
I also learned that some of the oldest known game pieces go back over five thousand years which is wild.
there was this whole segment on ancient Egyptian board games and how they believed the gods played them.
anyway I'm about halfway through the series and there are four more episodes so I'll let you know if the rest is as good.
JVU09pYiYW6 honestly I think you'd enjoy the episode about the rise of modern card games.
